Under the “Mission Khaki- Kar Har Maidan Fateh”, the district administration has received massive response to its initiative to prepare Kapurthala district youth for recruitment against the 10,334 vacancies in Punjab Police.
As many as 736 young boys and girls have registered themselves from all over the district. Deputy Commissioner Vishesh Sarangal, who is personally supervising the mission, said the time limit for new registration has been extended till June 30 in view of the overwhelming response from the youth. Apart from this, a special helpline 82971-23193 has also been issued through which the youth can get information.
He said after the completion of graduation examinations by June 25, all registered youth would be trained under “Mission Khaki”. He said out of 234 youths undergoing training at present, 86 were girls and administration has made special arrangements for them.
Notably, physical training was going on at Police Lines, Kapurthala, C-Pyte, Guru Nanak Khalsa College, Sultanpur Lodhi and GNA, Phagwara. Apart from this e-delivery of learning camp components for preparation of written test has been started.
The DC asked the officers of the District Employment Bureau, Revenue Department and Rural Development and Panchayat Department to encourage the youth, especially in the rural areas, to get employment in the Punjab Police through this initiative of the district administration.
Therefore instructions have been given to organise camps at village-level besides making direct contact via mega counseling camps and higher education institutions.
‘Mission Khaki’ was launched on May 24 by the district administration under the leadership of DC Vishesh Sarangal and Kapurthala SSP Raj Bachan Sandhu. Manjit Kaur SP who brings the laurels at Olympics and Asian Games in athletics supervising the training of youth.
