Ludhiana, July 29

The Sarabha Nagar police have booked 14 persons on the charge of attacking and looting a man on the Ferozepur road. The suspects have been identified as Gurdeep Singh of Payal, Jagga Singh of Phullawal, Kaka Pehalwan, Amrit Singh and 10 unknown persons.

Complainant Kulpreet Singh of Govind Avenue told the police that yesterday night he along with his cousin and a friend was returning home after celebrating birthday. When they reached near Tharike Dhaba, several youths riding in Mercedes, Innova and Gypsy cornered them and started beating them, he added. They also snatched gold bracelet of his cousin, he said.

“We managed to escape from the spot and reached our house, but suspects followed us. They also barged into our house. Assailants fled when my father fired gunshots from his licenced weapon to shoo away them,” he added. ASI Amarjit Singh said efforts were on to trace suspects.
