The police have arrested three persons for peddling liquor in two cases and recovered 238 bottles from them.
A patrol party of the Daresi police nabbed two persons, Jatinder Singh and Inderjit Singh, both residents of Gandhi Nagar, while they were reportedly going towards Shivpuri side on a scooter to sell liquor. Twelve bottles of country liquor were recovered from their possession. A case under sections 61/1/14 of the Excise Act and 188 of the IPC has been registered.
In the other case, the Sahnewal police arrested Munna Shah, a resident of Mahadev Nagar, and booked his accomplice, Kaku, a resident of 33 Feet Road, Pippal Chowk, for peddling liquor. The police raided a makeshift tea shop run by the suspects on Jaspal Bangar Road and seized 216 bottles of liquor from the premises. A case has been registered under sections 61/1/14 of the Excise Act.
