Ludhiana: A wonderful show was put up by students of Ryan International School, Jamalpur, at MBD Neopolis Mall. To provide a platform to students to unravel their talent in various fields, the school organised an event at the mall.

Ludhiana: A wonderful show was put up by students of Ryan International School, Jamalpur, at MBD Neopolis Mall. To provide a platform to students to unravel their talent in various fields, the school organised an event at the mall. The array of performances was included rock band, folk instruments, street plays, mime and gidda.

Annual athletics meet

The 12th annual athletics meet concluded at BCM School, Chandigarh Road. The two-day affair comprised 40 track-and-field events. Students of Class I to X participated in the events. Racing events, and obstacle and relay race kept the audience on edge. Principal DP Guleria felicitated winners with medals. The meet concluded with the National Anthem.

Silver for DAV in basketball

Players of U-19 girls’ basketball team of DAV Public School, Pakhowal Road, brought laurels to the school by winning silver at the CBSE National Basketball Championship, held at St Teresa’s School, Maansarovar, Jaipur. The team comprised Pretty Sidhu, Kanishka Dhir, Deepinder Kaur, Bhavika Dhir, Jasleen Kaur Bedi, Parneet Kaur, Aditi Devgan, Sehaj and Ekampreet Kaur.. Pretty Sidhu, captain of the team, was declared the best player in the U-19 category at the championship.

DAV artists win state-level contest

Rasleen Kaur and Navya Talwar, budding artists of DAV Public School, BRS Nagar, did their alma mater proud by winning cash prizes at a state-level painting competition on ‘Energy conservation’, organised by Bhakra Beas Management Board (BBMB) at Chandigarh. Four students of the school, namely Dhruvika, Rasleen Kaur, Navya Talwar and Amna Bedi participated in the competition held on November 14 at Tagore Theatre, Chandigarh. Rasleen bagged cash prize of Rs 20,000 while Navya Talwar won a cash prize of Rs 7,500. Rasleen has been selected for the national level competition. Principal JK Sidhu congratulated the winners.

DAV hosts mime competition

DAV Public School, BRS Nagar, hosted the Ludhiana Sahodaya School Complex (LSSC) mime competition, in which 15 schools participated. DAV Public School, Pakhowal Road, stood first whileVardhmann International Public School, Chandigarh Road, and BCM Senior Secondary School, Basant City, were declared first and second runners-up, respectively. The consolation prize was won by Sacred Heart Convent School, Sarabha Nagar.

Seminar on stress management

A seminar on ‘Time and stress management’ by Saudagar Singh, Assistant Professor, was organised by BVM, Chandigarh Road. He briefed students about stress and time-related problems, and told them techniques to successfully deal with them. he said planning, preparation and practice could overcome challenges.

Smart kid activity organised 

Police DAV Public School, Police Lines, Civil Lines, organised a ‘Smart kid rocks’ activity for students of UKG to give them a platfom to showcase their talents and skills. Students presented various television advertisements, their uses and benefits.

GNPS student brings laurels

As part of the National Awareness Campaign of the Ministry of Power, Government of India, to promote energy conservation in the country, the Bhakhra Beas Management Board (BBMB) organised a state-level on-the-spot painting competition at Tagore Theatre, Chandigarh. Manpreet Kaur of Class IX, Guru Nanak International Public School, Model Town, participated and bagged the consolation prize with a cash award of Rs 7,500. TNS
