Bathinda, April 14
Baisakhi was celebrated with great fervour and gaiety with a large number of devotees thronging Takht Sri Damdama Sahib here to offer prayers.
This was after two years that large number of devotees paid obeisance at the gurdwara on Baisakhi as Covid-induced restrictions had banned large gatherings.
Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann was among the devotees who paid obeisance. He also performed “ardas” for “Sarbat Da Bhala”.
Later, replying to a media query on how the AAP government would fulfil its promises made in the run-up to the Assembly elections, Mann said: “With the blessings of God and trust reposed by public in us, we will leave no stone unturned to meet people’s aspirations.”
Mann also met devotees and took blessings from elderly persons.
SGPC president Harjinder Singh Dhami and Akal Takth Jathedar Giani Harpreet Singh also paid obeisance at Takht Sri Damdama Sahib. —
