Amritsar, February 11
The Army’s Panther Division yesterday organised an ex-servicemen rally to assist the veterans, Veer Naris/ Veer Matas by providing relevant post-retirement benefits information, redressal of grievances and overcome documentation anomalies in coordination with representatives of various record offices, Principal Controller of Defence Accounts (Pension), state government agencies and bank officials.
A medical camp was also organised on the occasion to provide necessary and immediate medical cover to those in need. The Army spokesman said it stands for its soldiers always whether they are in service or after retirement.
The rally was to convey gratitude to all Veer Naris, Veer Matas, senior veterans and ex-servicemen for their solemn and selfless service to the nation, society and the armed forces. As the rally was expected to be attended by large number of veterans, Veer Naris/ Veer Matas and their dependents, this is also seen as an opportunity for the Army to guide, educate our veterans and their next of kin to enable them to live a dignified retired life.
The General Officer Commanding, Panther Division, Major General Mukesh Sharma assured all veterans that Panther Division shall always stand for them.
