After coming to know of infrastructural drawbacks at New Focal Point on the Mehta Road, Punjab State Industry Exports Corporation (PSIEC) chairman Gurpreet Bassi has announced several remedial measures.
He held interactions with industrialists and their associations during his visit in the city on Friday.
He announced that jet machines would be provided to clean sewerage and defunct streetlights will be repaired soon.
He informed industrialists that funds for the common effluent treatment plant (CETP) had been received under the Smart City Project and the plant would be installed soon.
Besides, plots for fire brigade and ESI Hospital were already earmarked in the Focal Point. He assured that boundary walls around the Focal Point and parks would be established.
Meanwhile, a delegation of the New Focal Point Industrial Association handed over a memorandum to the PSIEC Chairman and drew his immediate attention to stagnant water in plots at Focal Point.
Association chairman Pankaj Mehra said sewerage system, streetlights, fire brigade, CETP and sewerage treatment plant, disposal of waste, security gates and fresh recruitment for understaffed PSIEC must be addressed immediately to bring efficiency.
