Two groups clash in Patti, 3 women among 24 booked

A clash broke out between two groups in Patti town, 25 km from here on Sunday. The accused pelted stones and opened fire on each other, while no casualty was reported.     The police recovered 10 empty cartridges and seized a car(PB-02-X-4440) from the spot.  

The Patti police have registered a case under Sections 307, 506, 323, 427, 148, 149 of the IPC and 25, 54, 59 of the Arms Act against 24 persons from both the sides. Three women too have been named as accused in the case. No arrest has been arrested so far.

The accused have been identified as Raja, Gopi, Rajiv, Sajan, Baga, Resham, Ghatti, Gian Kaur, Jasbir Kaur, Kuldeep Kaur, Buta, Dhira, Sanni, Paras, Ashoki, Skattar, Chandi, Bheema, Jassa, Bhaia Chhoti, Bhaia Vaddi, Naina and Anjali.  The police said the PCR patrolling party led by ASI Heera Singh heard the gun shots. When he reached the spot the accused from both the sides were pelting stones on each other. The firing was going on from both sides. As soon as ASI Heera Singh intervened  the accused managed to escape from the spot. — OC
