Woman dies in road mishap

AMRITSAR: A woman lost her life in a road mishap when a goods carrier hit a two-wheeler she was riding pillion near Dashmesh Nagar.

Amritsar, January 22

A woman lost her life in a road mishap when a goods carrier hit a two-wheeler she was riding pillion near Dashmesh Nagar. The deceased has been identified as Sangita Sharma. The unidentified driver fled with the vehicle (Chhota Hathi).

Suraj Sharma, a relative of the deceased, said passersby took her to a private hospital where she was declared brought dead. The deceased’s husband, who was driving the two-wheeler, is undergoing treatment at Guru Nanak Dev Hospital. The accident occurred at around 11:15 pm on January 20. The investigation officer, ASI Vijay Kumar of Mohkampura police station, said efforts were on to identify the suspect.
