Five booked for fraud

MUKTSAR:The Malout (Sadar) police have booked five persons for allegedly committing an immigration fraud amounting to Rs 13 lakh on the pretext of sending him to Canada.

The Malout (Sadar) police have booked five persons for allegedly committing an immigration fraud amounting to Rs 13 lakh on the pretext of sending him to Canada. Complainant Jagjit Singh of Ennakhera village told the police that the suspects took Rs 17 lakh from him for sending him to Canada, but sent to Cambodia instead. 

“They did not send me to Canada further and returned Rs 4 lakh later. However, they refused to return remaining Rs 13 lakh,” alleged Jagjit. The police have booked Gurpreet Singh, Surjit Singh of Faridkot and Narinder Singh, Ajit Singh of Bathinda and Vijay Kumar of Delhi under Sections 420, 465, 467, 468, 471 and 120B of the IPC. No arrests have been made as of now.
