Malout SDM reviews drug prevention efforts

Malout SDM Gopal Singh held a meeting with cluster co-ordinators and master trainers to discuss the Drug Abuse Prevention Officers (DAPO) programme on Saturday.

During the meeting, the BDPOs were asked to prepare schedule for imparting training to village panchayats by the master trainers. The cluster co-ordinators were asked to visit their areas during the training. The SDM also asked the DSP and SHOs to take strict action to curb the meance of drugs.

Status of borewells examined

Later, the SDM held a meeting in connection with borewells and directed all department officials concerned to make sure that all abandoned boreweels were plugged. The BDPOs were further directed to ask the panchayats to pass resolutions to plug all abandoned borewells in their areas.

The Block Agriculture Officials, BDPOs, PSPCL officials, the Executive Officer of the Municipal Council and the SDOof the Sewerage Board attended the meeting.
