Bathinda, February 2

Members of the Bathinda unit of the Punjab State Ministerial Staff (DC office), Punjab, continued their pen-down strike for the second consecutive day today and burnt an effigy of the state government.

Public work has been stalled for two days and will resume only after the weekend.

After assembling at the District Administrative Complex, the protesters raised slogans against the state government and accused it of ignoring their demands for long.

After burning an effigy of the government, the members said it showed poorly on the state government that although public works were getting delayed due to the pen-down strike, the government was not budging from its position.

District president of the union, Megh Singh Sidhu, said the state body of the union would convene a meeting tomorrow to plan the future course of action. — TNS
