Missing child from Ludhiana found begging at city railway station

BATHINDA: Then District Child Protection Officer, Bathinda, Ravneet Kaur today said a child was located begging at the Bathinda railway station yesterday.

The District Child Protection Officer, Bathinda, Ravneet Kaur today said a child was located begging at the Bathinda railway station yesterday.

The child’s name is Rohit, his father’s name is Mani and mother’s name is Lalita.

The boy claims to be a resident of Ludhiana.

Shiva contractor found the child begging at the railway station and immediately informed the DSP (D) Gurmail Singh Dhaliwal.

The DDR was lodged and he was brought to the office of District Child Protection Office.

After the child welfare committee conducted medical examination of the child, he was sent to the Children’s Home.

The child was counselled. He told the department officials that his parents work in a nut-bolt factory and live near Focal Point Ludhiana.

The DCPO office and the police are trying to locate the child’s parents.
