Fitch lowers India's economic growth projections
Global rating agency Fitch has lowered India's economic growth projections to 7.8% for the current fiscal from 8% earlier. Fitch, however, said it expects that India's GDP growth rate this year will surpass China's for the first time since 1999, forecasting an acceleration to 8.1% in 2016-17 before settling back to 8% in 2017-18. Axis Bank launches Secure Plus debit card
Axis Bank has announced the launch of Secure Plus, an EMV chip-based debit card that offers best-in-class security by safeguarding the customer’s wallet, including Axis Bank and other bank cards. Flipkart ties up with three major home retailers
Flipkart on Thursday announced a strategic partnership with three of the country's largest home retail brands — Home Town (Future group), HomeStop (Shoppers Stop) and @Home. The tie-ups will introduce a whole new range of products from these brands, adding to Flipkart's existing portfolio of 1,000 plus brands with seven lakh home products. PTI

BBC to cut over 1,000 jobs
The BBC said it will cut more than 1,000 jobs because it expects to receive £150 million less than forecast from the licence fee next financial year as viewers turn off televisions and watch programmes on the internet. Reuters
