Model UN commences at Punjab Public School, Nabha

PATIALA:Former diplomat KC Singh inaugurated the three-day Model United Nations (UN) at The Punjab Public School, Nabha today.

Former diplomat KC Singh inaugurated the three-day Model United Nations (UN) at The Punjab Public School, Nabha today.

As many as 260 students from 22 schools would participate in the session. The event would host mock sessions of the United Nations General Assembly, United Nations Security Council, United Nations Human Rights Council, United Nations Economic and Social Council, United Nations Development Programme and Lok Sabha.  Aakshi Batra of The Punjab Public School would be the acting Secretary General.

The chief guest told about  the setting up of the UN in the aftermath of  World War II and shed a light on reforms needed to keep the organisation relevant in the contemporary environment. — TNS
