A 30-year-old rape suspect, who is on the run, has sent a representation to the UT police, alleging that he is being framed by the victim in a false case.
Baljit Choudhary, a former student leader, is accused of raping a 22-year-old model at her flat in Sector 63.
On the night of November 9, Choudhary, along with his friends Pabhjit Gill and Mottu, had visited the model’s flat to meet her and her friend, who were known to them. The trio had left after a few hours, following which the victim informed the police that Choudhary raped her.
Choudhary, in his representation, has alleged that the victim, in connivance with a person named Gaurav, alias Lucky, who has a criminal past, hatched a conspiracy to frame him in the case. Choudhary has claimed that he has old enmity with Lucky.
The suspect has claimed that he has a recording in which the victim was heard saying that she wanted money to strike a compromise and she will purchase a flat in Chandigarh with it.
In his representation, Choudhary claimed that he has evidences to prove his innocence and want a fair probe in the case.
The representation, which has been sent through the Speed Post, has been addressed to the DGP, UT.
