The Akhil Bharaitya Akhada Parishad has asked the governments of Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh to allocate Kumbh land to all 13 akhadas permanently.

Niranjani Akhada national president Shri Mahant Narendra Giri Maharaj said at a meeting that the Madhya Pradesh government post-Maha Kumbh had handed over the land given for the base camp during the fair to all akhadas and the Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh governments could replicate their move.

He said Ardh Kumbh would be organised in Allahabad in 2018 and Maha Kumbh in Haridwar in 2021, so the two state governments should ensure the Kumbh mela land is allotted to the akhadas permanently.

He added this would ensure round the year maintenance of the land by the akhadas.

Narendra Giri urged the two state governments to provide the best facilities to the akhadas during Ardh Kumbh and Maha Kumbh.

Niranjani Akhada secretary Mahant Lalita Giri, Bairagi camp, Kali temple spiritual head Mahant Ravindra Puri Maharaj, Shravan Nath Muth spiritual guru Dinesh Giri Mahraj and Mahnat Shiv Giri Maharaj also put forth their views at the meeting.
