Ludhiana: Mother’s Pride school celebrated its Annual Day ‘Love lasts forever’ at Guru Nanak Dev Bhawan here. The programme showcased children’s spell-binding acts and dance performances. The event started with ‘Durga Vandana’. A theatrical enactment ‘Bhagat Prahlad’ was the attraction of the day. The performance showcased love of little Prahlad for Lord Vishnu. Children dedicated a heart-warming performance to their parents. Toddlers of the school also gave wonderful dance performances. The last performance of the day was ‘Punjabi Wedding’ wherein children showcased all rituals of a Punjabi wedding. Director Shobhan Soi congratulated the staff and students of the school and gave away the prizes to the outstanding performers. Master Mother’s Pride title was bagged by Aarav Gupta and Miss Mother’s Pride by Samaira Madan.

Opening day of pre-primary

Police DAV Public School, Police Line, was decorated as ‘Tinsel Town’. The school was decked up with various cartoon characters carrying digital machines. The walls were beautifully decorated with handmade glittering stars, strings and hangings. MK Tiwari, IPS, ADGP (Traffic), Punjab, was the chief guest. Mandeep Singh Sidhu, PPS (Deputy Commissioner of Police), Rashmi Vij, Manager of the school, Dhruv Dahiya IPS, ADCP (Traffic), Ludhiana, Sandeep Kumar Garg, IPS, ADCP (Head Quarter), Jaswinder Kaur Sidhu and Dr Satwant Kaur Bhullar, Principals of the other two local DAV Schools were present. The celebrations brought to life the colours of childhood with programmes ranging from exhibition of origami and handicrafts to drama, songs, rhymes and slogans, befitting the theme of the show. The cultural bonanza commenced with the lighting of a lamp by MK Tiwari which was followed by a welcome dance. Students presented their talents during the celebrations through various dance performances —peacock dance, bihu dance and dandiya raas. The school’s grandeur ensemble punctuated the day with captivating array of tunes depicting various important messages such as “Clean Around ! Neat Around” “Clean India, Green India”, “Equipped with tools of Digital Life such as ATMs, PayTM, swipe machines and net banking” .The Chairman of the school, in the end, eloquently addressed the gathering with his views of futuristic vision and conveyed the message about the necessity of making India a clean and digitalised country. The Manager of the school, Dr Rashmi Vij, while addressing the audience said the mission to create progressive and developed India can be attained through the major missions of Swachh Bharat and Digital India. The day ended with a vote of thanks by Dr Anu Verma, Princpal of the school. She lauded the efforts of the ‘Tiny Brigade ‘ for displaying good show and urged the students to take part in such celebrations invariably as they go a long way in the development of the personality.—TNS
