With a view to ensure welfare of persons with disabilities, the state government has decided to conduct a survey to collect detailed data about socio-economic status and availability of certificates, aids and appliances to such persons in the state. The survey would be conducted in a time-bound manner at a cost of about Rs 3.01 crore.

While stating this here today, Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Kavita Jain said approval to this effect had been given by Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar.

She said the survey would be conducted by Anganwadi workers and Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHAs). While the Anganwadi workers would be assigned the task of collecting data for children aged up to six years, the ASHA workers would collect data for persons with disabilities above the age of six years.
