Dehradun, April 21
The Vidhan Sabha Speaker’s office has set April 26 as the date for hearing the disqualification of BJP legislator Bhim Lal Arya.
The chief whip of the party, Madan Kaushik, and lawyers designated by the party submitted their rejoinder to Bhim Lal Arya’s plea.
“Unfortunately, MLA Bhim Lal Arya came to the office only after the lawyers and chief whip Madan Kaushik had left. Hence we handed over their reply to him so that he can study them up when he comes for the final hearing to take place on April 26,” said Jagdish Chander, Secretary, Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly.
Depending on the case, Legislative Assembly Speaker Govind Singh Kunjwal may either deliver his decision on the same day or reserve it for another day. The BJP minus Arya has 27 members in the House.
