Lift men’s stir at Civil Sectt troubles visitors

Hundreds of persons visiting the Punjab Civil Secretariat, the Mini Secretariat and other multi-storeyed government buildings based in Chandigarh faced inconvenience as lift operators and electricians observed strike in support of their demands from 9 am to 12 noon today.

Hundreds of persons visiting the Punjab Civil Secretariat, the Mini Secretariat and other multi-storeyed government buildings based in Chandigarh faced inconvenience as lift operators and electricians observed strike in support of their demands from 9 am to 12 noon today.

Elderly were the most harassed. They were virtually stranded and had no option, but to wait for the strike to end. Engineers and other middle-rung officials were seen operating lifts for VIPs in some buildings.
