This Rani is ready

After Vishal Bharadwaj’s Rangoon alongside Saif Ali Khan and Shahid Kapoor, Kangana Ranaut will now be seeing playing the role of the fierce queen Rani Lakshmibai of Jhansi. The film is titled, Manikarnika – The Queen of Jhansi after Lakshmibai’s maiden name. Now, we have got hold of the first sketch of Kangana’s look from the film.

The sketch looks intriguing – Kangana dons short hair, a beautiful turban, accessorized with simple earrings and a nose ring.

Revealed a source close to the unit, “Kangana Ranaut is prepping for Manikarnika in full swing. She is currently practising horse riding at the Mahalaxmi race course (Mumbai) with one of finest riders – Suresh Taporia.” 

The actress is also learning sword fighting, one of the skills that Manikarnika had acquired. It has also been confirmed that the shoot of the film will begin in the first week of June.
