Fatehabad: Two youths were thrashed by Congress activists when they justified Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s move to scrap currency notes of Rs 1000 and Rs 500 during the party’s protest against demonetisation on Monday. When Congress leaders Prahlad Singh Gillankhera, Dura Ram, Krishna Punia, Tek Chand Midha and others were addressing a protest meeting of the party at Lal Batti Chowk, some youths started questioning their motive against what they said was the “government’s move against black money.” An argument ensued between the youths and the Congress workers after which two youths were badly thrashed. They were later rescued by some protesters. Senior BJP leader Bharat Bhushan Midha alleged that frustrated over a poor response to their bandh call, Congress leaders had become frustrated. TNS
