Nurpur, August 18
The online bill payment facility, launched by Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board Limited (HPSEBL) over a year ago, has turned out to be a bane.
The HPSEBL issued bimonthly electricity bills a week ago through the spot billing machines (SBMs). The last date for making the payment is August 19, but the consumers are unable to make the payment as the bills have not been uploaded on the website. The HPSEBL usually uploads the bills just one or two days before last date for making the payment.
Prem Kumar, assistant engineer, Nurpur division, said the problem of uploading bills was being encountered at the headquarters, not at the sub-divisional level. — OC
