Under Market Intervention Scheme, apple prices fixed

Making trade much smoother for the apple growers of the state, the Department of Horticulture, Planning and Marketing has fixed prices for apple according to the fruit grade and type of packaging material under the Market Intervention Scheme.

The department has fixed price for the ‘Delicious Apple’ variety at the rate of Rs 52 per kg for Grade A, Rs 36 per kg for Grade B and Rs 15.75 for Grade C with cardboard grass packing. Similarly, Rs 53 and Rs 37 per kg have been fixed for Grade A and Grade B ‘Delicious Apple’ variety with cardboard tray packing. Rs 54 and Rs 38 per kg have been fixed for Grade A and Grade B ‘Delicious Apple’ variety with wood packing. For the ‘American Apple’ variety, Rs 48 per kg has been fixed for Grade A, Rs 32 per kg for Grade B and Rs 18 for Grade C with cardboard grass packing. — TNS
