MP inaugurates water shed project

PHILLAUR: Under the Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayi Yojna, Water Shed Component project was inaugurated in Rurka Kalan and Dhindsa village in Phillaur by Member of Parliament Jalandhar Santokh Singh Chaudhary along with Vikramjit Singh Chaudhary General Secretary Punjab Congress on Monday.

Under the Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayi Yojna, Water Shed Component project was inaugurated in Rurka Kalan and Dhindsa village in Phillaur by Member of Parliament Jalandhar Santokh Singh Chaudhary along with Vikramjit Singh Chaudhary General Secretary Punjab Congress on Monday.

The project at Rurka Kalan will benefit around 70 farmers and cover 100 acres of agriculture land and at Dhindsa village, it will help irrigate 70-80 acres of land. The Rurka Kalan project is worth Rs 39 lakh and that of Dhindsa village is worth Rs 17.19 lakh. MP Chaudhary apprised people of the benefits of such projects, which will not only help the poor farmers who can not afford water pumps, but at the same time also plays a major role in keeping the village clean. —OC
