Sports Dept organises badminton tournament

The Sports Department organised a badminton tournament on Monday here at Hans Raj Stadium.

The matches were held in U-9 to U-15 age groups.

The results

U-13 boys’ singles category: Abhishek Bhandari get the best of Gaurish 21-19, 18-21 and 21-17. category.In U-9 boys’ category: Zorawar Singh beat Gunpaneet Singh 21-11 and 21-12.

U-11 boys’ category: Gurshan beat Nikhil 21-15 and 21-17:

U-15 boys’ category: Rishant defeated Param 21-17, 15-21 and 21-18.

In girls’ category: Janaya registered easy win against Jayavanshni 21-11 and 21-15.

Coaches Harjinder Singh and Varun Kumar congratulated the winners. They said the state government was holding such tournaments for creating a sports environment in the state under Tandarust Punjab Mission.
