FIR over fake entries to claim compensation

A few persons have been booked for misusing the ID and password of cooperative societies allegedly in connivance with government employees to give benefit to some persons under government scheme for farmers.

These persons have been booked on the basis of statement of Rajpal Singh, Assistant Registrar, Cooperative Societies, under Section 420 of the IPC and 66 of the IT Act.

The investigating officer said a few persons managed to get the ID and password of government website allegedly in connivance with government employees and started filling forms of a large number of people showing them as farmers who did not burn paddy stubble to give them monetary benefits. These forms have been filled under the government scheme for providing financial assistance to those farmers who did not burn stubble and instead managed it by shelling extra expenses.
