Tractor falls into canal, two drown

Two persons drowned after a tractor fell into the Bhakra main line canal near Khanauri yesterday. The police recovered the body of Mukesh Kumar (28) this morning. Harbilas (15) is still missing.

Both were searching for a buffalo, which had gone missing from the house of Harbilas’ grandfather Jai Bhagwan, when Mukesh lost control of the vehicle.

The tractor was fished out of the canal last night. “We are searching for Harbilas,” said Sukhchain Singh, SHO, Khanauri.
