Bengaluru, November 19 

Bengaluru FC had a satisfying Indian Super League debut as they beat Mumbai City FC 2-0 in their opening encounter. Spaniard Eduardo Martin Garcia scored in the 67th minute off a set-piece, while skipper Sunil Chhetri cashed in on a defensive blunder from Mehrajuddin Wadoo in the third minute of stoppage time to get full points for the two-time I-league winners.

Goa see off late fightback to beat Chennaiyin 3-2

Chennai: FC Goa defeated Chennaiyin FC 3-2 here today. After Ferran Corominas scored Season 4’s first goal in the 25th minute, Goa added two more — through Manuel Lanzarote and Mandar Rao Dessai — in the space of 14 minutes.

The hosts fought back bravely in the second half. They reduced the margin through Inigo Calderon (70th) and Raphael Augusto (84th) but the Gaurs held on for the win. — PTI
