Burma''s political Aspirations

AT a meeting of the Burma Legislative Council the Lieutenant Governor made brief references to the political aspirations of the Province. He did not say what precisely were the aspirations of the people of Burma as expressed by their recognised spokesmen who had deliberated on the subject. But he spoke of the aspirations of the province as conceived by himself and his brother officials who have their own ideas of what is good for the people. He said: -"It is a great source of satisfaction that we have been saved the turmoil of political controversies of which scarcely more than echoes have reached these shores. Out attentions have not been distracted by programmes and propaganda."
