The Central University of Punjab (CUP) has started the admissions process for master and doctoral programmes for the academic session 2019-20 through the Central Universities Common Entrance Test-2019 (CUCET-2019).

Registration for online application forms began on March 13 and will close on April 13. Admit cards for the CUCET will be issued on May 10 and the test will be held on May 25 and 26. The results of the CUCET will be announced on June 21.

Vice-Chancellor Prof RK Kohli said the university invited online applications for 36 master programmes and 30 PhD programmes. He said students could also visit the university’s official website — www.cup.edu.in — to check details of various courses in basic and applied sciences, education, engineering and technology, environmental and earth sciences, global relations, health sciences, languages, literature and culture, legal studies and governance, social sciences, mass communication and media studies and management disciplines.

Prof Jagdeep Singh, Registrar, CUP, said the PhD applicants, who had qualified NET-JRF, UGC / CSIR / ARSB – NET and ICMR-JRF, would be exempted from the test. He added that however, they had to apply for the entrance exam and appear for the interview.

He said before the starting of PhD course work, each candidate must have financial assistance from government or industrial agencies.

Kanwal Pal Singh Mundra, Controller of Examination, said students could check the complete details and apply online on www.cucetexam.in.
