Charges framed against Bishnoi, Nehra

PANCHKULA: A Panchkula court today framed charges against dreaded gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, Sampat Nehra and five others in connection with the firing outside the house of a property dealer in Sector 2 and freeing of an undertrial from the Civil Hospital here.

A Panchkula court today framed charges against dreaded gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, Sampat Nehra and five others in connection with the firing outside the house of a property dealer in Sector 2 and freeing of an undertrial from the Civil Hospital here.

In the first case of firing outside the house of builder Anil Bhalla, a resident of Sector 4, charges have been framed under Sections 307, 427 and 34 of the IPC and Sections 25, 54, 59 of the Arms Act against Bishnoi, Nehra and the others. In another case of freeing of an undertrial prisoner, Deepak, from the hospital in Sector 6, charges have been framed under Sections 307, 332 and 224 of the IPC and Sections 25, 54 and 59 of the Arms Act.

Both cases will now come up for hearing on December 16 in the court of Additional District and Sessions Judge Narender Sura.

Eight notorious criminals, including gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, were produced in the Panchkula District Courts amid tight security. A heavy police force, including all SHOs, ACPs and teams of the CID and the crime branch, Panchkula, was deputed at the court complex.

The first case dates back to July 3, 2017, when realtor Anil Bhalla returned to his house around 3.30 pm. He entered the house after parking his car. After sometime, the accused came in a white car and opened fire at the house and the car. During the investigation, it came to the fore that the accused had threatened Anil Bhalla earlier also.

The second case dates back to June 17, 2017, when Sampat Nehra, a sharp shooter of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, had attacked a police party by spraying chilli powder in their eyes and had managed to free undertrial Deepak from police custody at the Civil Hospital in Sector 6, Panchkula. — TNS
