Ambala, November 28

Five persons have been booked for attempt to murder and in an arms case in connection with a firing incident on Saturday evening.

In his complaint to the police, Gaurav Goyal, an advocate and resident of Naraingarh, stated that around 7:27 pm on Saturday, two youths, who had their faces covered, reached outside his house on a motorcycle.

“They rang the doorbell, enquired if it was my house and opened fire soon after my wife affirmed it was. My wife managed to lock the door somehow and saved our lives. They had fired five shots. Even in the past, I have received threat calls from international numbers and cases were also registered in this regard at the Shahzadpur police station, but no action was taken,” he alleged in his complaint.

The incident was captured by the CCTV camera installed in the house. Gaurav’s wife reportedly suffered a minor bullet pellet injury in her leg.

The complainant alleged that he had enmities over land and money disputes with Baldev, Ajit, Shiv Kumar, Captain Karnail and Rajesh and he suspected that these people could be behind the attack.

The police have booked them on the basis of suspicion raised by the complainant. A case under Sections 307, 323 and 34 of the IPC and Section 25 of the Arms Act has been registered against them.

Vijay Kumar, SHO, Naraingarh police station, said “Three teams have been constituted to nab the suspects. The investigation in the case is underway.”
