The Institute of Microbial Technology (IMTECH) today signed an MoU with Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Ropar, during the 78th Foundation Day celebrations of the CSIR here.
The MoU will facilitate exchange of ideas, development of new knowledge, promote collaborative research and enhance high quality research acumen between the researchers and faculty of both institutes. The objective is to carry out state of the art research in the areas of healthcare, especially in projects and mission where both institutes can significantly complement each other.
Presided over by Panjab University Vice-Chancellor Prof Raj Kumar, this year’s Foundation Day lecture was delivered by Prof Sarit K Das, Director, IIT, Ropar, on ‘Microfluidics in Biological Research-An Engineer’s Perspective’. He presented the development and applications of two uniquely designed micro-fluidic platforms to study the effect of temperature and chemical concentration gradient on the functioning of microorganisms and body cells.
