To take first-hand stock of the ground situation, UT Adviser Dharam Pal, along with Principal Secretary Health Arun Kumar Gupta, Director Health Services (DHS) Dr Amandeep Kang and other senior officers of the Health Department, took a round of the GMSH-16 here today.
The UT Adviser inspected the working of the PSA oxygen generation plant, which was installed during the second surge of Covid-19. The DHS informed the Adviser that an additional PSA plant with 1,000 litres per minute (LPM) capacity will be installed shortly.
The Adviser also visited the liquid oxygen plant facility and the adjoining oxygen manifold area in the hospital.
The hospital has recently increased the ICU bed capacity from eight to 20 to meet the demand of Covid patients. The soon-to-be-made operational ICU would have state-of-the-art ventilators, beds and multipara monitors.
He also visited the Radiology Department and the blood bank. The officials also took a round of the Covid vaccination centre at the GMSH-16 where the Advisor interacted with beneficiaries.
