Zirakpur, September 3
A heavy traffic jam was witnessed near the airport lights point in Mohali today as a group of protesters, who had come from Patiala, Rajpura and Banur, gathered there to demand from Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh the implementation of the Hindu Temples Act.
The group wanted to submit a memorandum to the Punjab CM in this regard but were stopped by the police.
Commuters had been inconvenienced for an hour. The police had to divert the traffic to the one side of the road.
The protesters later handed over the memorandum to the Zirakpur DSP. — TNS
