One of the most important tourist spots in the city, Sukhna Lake, is lacks basic facilities these days. Due to official apathy, tourists even don’t have clean toilets. The UT Electricity Department too has discontinued the power supply to one of the two toilet blocks.

The employee responsible for the maintenance of the toilet blocks said in the absence of electricity, water was not available for cleaning purposes.

The toilet blocks were constructed on the directions of the court but the authorities concerned have failed to maintain these.

An MC official said it was the responsibility of CITCO to pay electricity charges on which they defaulted. He said the MC had taken up the matter with CITCO and also applied for a separate electricity connection for the toilets.

Sunil Parti, a regular visitor to the lake, said people were not even being provided round-the-clock supply of drinking water as it was being supplied only in the morning and evening.

Sunder Lal, a tourist from Rohtak, said he was disappointed to see the condition of the toilets as these were stinking.

Parti further added that the number of stray dogs had increased in the area.
