Workshop on Punjabi poetry at MCM DAV college

Chandigarh, February 25

To give a platform to young budding poets and motivate them to carry forward the rich legacy of Punjabi language, the Punjabi Department of the MCM DAV College for Women conducted a workshop titled ‘Yuva Shairaan de Ang Sang’.

Organised in collaboration with Punjab Sahitya Akademi, the workshop was attended by several eminent personalities, including Dr Satish Verma, Secretary, Punjab Sahitya Akademi.

Expressing appreciation for college’s commitment towards promotion of young talent and indigenous languages, Dr Satish Verma highlighted the importance of poetry as a tool that provides an insight into one’s own being. Dr Verma referred to literature as one’s true friend and motivated the audience to keep alive the rich tradition of Punjabi literature.
