Pracheen Kala Kendra, in collaboration the North Zone Cultural Centre and Pracheen Kala Kendra, organised a Kathak dance drama titled 'Jodha' by over 70 prodigious student artistes from Shobhaniya Kala Kendra at Tagore Theatre here today.

The event was conceived, designed and directed by nationally acclaimed Kathak dance doyenne Purva, daughter of Kathak guru Shobha Koser. Purva delineated phases of childhood under the care and love of 'maa' and escorted her mother guru on stage. After two invocatory dances, the student artistes brought alive the childhood of princess Jodha through spectacular dances augmented by audio-visual screen effects using Rajasthani folk. Her marriage to emperor Akbar and her resolve to live on her own terms won Akbar's heart.
