With the aim to lifting the education standard in the government schools and for the overall development of the children, mega parent-teacher meetings (PTM) were held in 172 government schools in the district on Tuesday.
It was a first-of-its-kind step, for which around 50,000 invitation cards had been sent to parents by Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Nishant Kumar Yadav for the maximum participation of the parents, including those of the dropout students.
As part of “Gyan ka Daan” programme, nearly 400 eminent personalities, including retired teachers, doctors, retired Army officers and others, had been roped in by the district administration for the career counselling of the students.
The ADC started the campaign from Government Senior Secondary School, Nilokheri, and announced that such meetings would be a monthly feature in the government schools.
TheAdditional Deputy Commissioner recommended suggestion box to be placed in the schools so that children could drop their queries and grievances. Later, he interacted with parents.
Meanwhile, many parents hailed the decision of the administration for taking this initiative to raise the education standard in the government schools of the district.
