Confusion prevailed in Kangra district today over weekend restrictions imposed by the government. Many people thought that there would be a complete curfew in Kangra on the weekend. Traders of essential items such as fruits and vegetables were not clear if they were allowed to open their shops on Sunday.

RM Sharma, a resident of Dharamsala, said he had to go to Chandigarh tomorrow but is not sure if he could travel in his own car or not. There was confusion if public transport was suspended.
Kangra Deputy Commissioner Rakesh Prajapati, said as per the government directions, it had been decided that all commercial establishments, including markets and restaurants, would remain closed on Sundays in view of the rise in Covid cases.
He said there was no restriction on the movement of public and private transport services. People could use their vehicles or travel by taxis and buses on Sundays. Roadside dhabcould also operate but they have been advised to use disposable plates, he said.
