Dharamsala, April 19
The Congress leader and ticket aspirant from the Dharamsala Assembly constituency, Vijay Inder Karan, today criticised Sudhir Sharma over the implementation of the Smart City project in Dharamsala.

I had travelled in the constituency and people wanted to question Sudhir Sharma why he left the Congress and cross-voted in the Rajya Sabha polls. —Vijay Inder Karan, Congress leader
Addressing a press conference here, he said the Smart City project in Dharamsala was implemented under the supervision of Sudhir Sharma initially as the Minister for Town and Country Planning and later as the Congress MLA from the area. Sudhir Sharma should explain to the people of Dharamsala as to why Rs 650 crore spent under the project had been wasted, he added.
Vijay Inder Karan alleged that people of Dharamsala were angry with Sudhir Sharma as he had deserted the Congress for which he was given the mandate by people of the area. “I had travelled in the constituency and people wanted to question Sudhir Sharma why he left the Congress and cross-voted in the Rajya Sabha polls,” he said.
He added that Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu had declared Kangra as the tourism capital of the state and initiated mega-projects in the area such as the expansion of the Gaggal airport. Once the projects were completed, Kangra would benefit a lot, he said.
Vijay Inder Karan alleged that the BJP had arranged helicopters to shift the rebel Congress MLAs to Haryana and then Uttarakhand. However, the Union Government did not spare a helicopter for people of Himachal Pradesh when monsoon fury had hit the state. The CM had donated his life savings for the people of state during the monsoon fury last year, he said.
