1,000-kg poppy husk seized by J&K Police

Srinagar, September 12

The Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) of the J&K Police seized 1,000-kg poppy straw from three trucks at two separate places, officials said.

The recoveries were made at the Sonamarg tourist resort in Ganderbal district and Ladakh on Saturday. The ANTF received an input regarding smuggling of narcotic substance in two trucks plying from the Valley to Leh following which the accused were intercepted, an official said. — PTI
