City duo of Prince Kumar and Radhika Lal performed exceedingly well to enable the Punjab team secure the overall second position in the National Schools Kurash Championship (U-14) for Boys and Girls.
Parveen Thakur, judo coach with the Punjab Sports Department, who officiated in this championship held at Pune in Maharashtra, wherein the 64th edition of this martial arts was held from February 22 to 24, said the Punjab contingent bagged 10 medals, including two gold, five silver and two bronze medals, to fetch the overall second position in the competition.
Two players from Ludhiana city, Prince Kumar and Radhika Lal, both trainees under Parveen Thakur at the coaching centre run here at the indoor multipurpose hall opposite Guru Nanak Stadium were the members of Punjab squad.
The duo competed in the below 40-kg weight category and came out with flying colours, clinching gold medals in their respective matches to steer their teams finish as the first runners-up.
