Ludhiana, February 20
Students of Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) continued with their week-long strike against the conduction of examinations in offline mode. Many students skipped on casting their right to vote in order to participate in the protest.
If our classes were held online, why are exams being taken offline? Exams should be held online, just like earlier semesters — One of the protesters
The exams, which were scheduled to held from February 17, have been postponed owing to the protest. Students are demanding online exams and have been protesting from the past seven days.
“I wanted to participate in the protest, so I did not go back home and decided to stay back. This issue is also very important to us,” said one of the students.
“If our theory and practical classes were held online, why are exams being taken offline? Students have also denied the proposal of the university to conduct examinations through a professional company/software as this will cost us dearer. We are demanding that exams should be conducted online just like earlier semesters,” said another student.
