Mandi Ahmedgarh/ Raikot/Jagraon, December 8

Continuing their fortnight-old protest, activists of the Revenue Officer Association Punjab, posted at various registrar and sub-registrar offices of the region, have proceeded on indefinite mass leave, with plans to join their counterparts from other parts of the state during protest rally and march towards the residence of Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi in Morinda on Friday.

They will also reach Hoshiarpur to join a scheduled protest rally in front of the office of the DSP, Vigilance, tomorrow. Besides seeking immediate release of Mahilpur Naib Tehsildar Sandeep Kumar and registry clerk Manjit Singh and withdrawal of criminal case registered by Vigilance against them, the protesters are also demanding stern action against three officials.—OC
