Strict order on night curfew implementation

Tribune News Service

Ludhiana, December 1

To implement night curfew in the city, all station house officers (SHOs) have been told to erect nakas in their respective jurisdictions and enforce the curfew strictly.

Joint Commissioner of Police, City, Bhagirath Meena, told The Tribune that the SHOs had been ordered to ensure that no violation of curfew took place between 10 pm and 5 am in the city.

“We have formed separate patrolling and naka teams. The patrolling teams will patrol the city areas and catch the violators in night curfew. Apart from issuing challans for not wearing masks, the night curfew violation may also invite FIR,” added JCP Meena.

Meena said the SHOs were told to stay in the field so that no violation took place during the night curfew.

The Joint Commissioner of Police said cops had begun an awareness campaign about the night curfew among the residents and shopkeepers.

Meena advised residents not to go out of their houses after 10 pm unless there was an emergency.
