If you are a Sharry Mann fan, then you shouldn’t enter the hall without having ‘3 Peg’ because it will make it bearable to watch his film Marriage Palace. And, if you are a Sharry Mann fan and not believe in the power of ‘3 Peg’ then pat your back and brace yourself to enter this palace at your own risk.

First things first, the only interesting thing about this film is its storyline. Written by Rakesh Dhawan, Marriage Palace is an interesting and fun story based on mistaken identity and comedy of errors. The story is new and fresh but the treatment is old and very tiring.

Director Sunil Thakur tries his best to keep the party going at this palace, but with repetitive, loud dialogues and a battery of actors who have been programmed to throw comic punches without giving two hoots about where these would punches fall. The film is interesting in very (and we mean very) selective parts because for major part of it, the film is like a ‘Chankata’ programme.

The film is dragged to no length and in many scenes, unnecessary and uncalled for comedy kills the real comic affect.

Marriage Palace boats of a battery of seasoned actors like Jaswinder Bhalla, BN Sharma, Anita Devgan, Harby Sangha, Nirmal Rishi, they need to relook at the word comedy and maybe rediscover it and befriend it again. The film slowly slips from being a regular slow moving film to a war of punches when all these actor comedians take the centre-stage. Alright, if war of punches it is, how about bringing some new punches in the arena?

The film also stars Payal Rajput and Nisha Bano, but, of course, what is a Punjabi film without pretty faces. Sumit Gulati, the Bollywood actor should start making careful choices while signing Punjabi films.

Now, comes the groom, the protagonist of the Marriage Palace, Sharry Mann. A fabulous singer who has a grasp on comedy, but not acting, because singing and acting are two different things, which we have understood after staying in Hostel for so long and after his 3 Peg! The film’s music is foot–tapping.
