New Delhi, June 23

Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya today chaired a meeting of experts to review the Covid rise as active cases touched 83,990 today with 13,313 new cases.

Review of Covovax for kids today

The DCGI’s subject expert committee on Covid will on Friday review Serum Institute of India’s aplications for emergency use authorisation to Covovax among children aged 2 to 7 years and 7 to 11 years.

Mandaviya stressed the need to focus on districts reporting high positivity and undertake adequate testing and effective Covid-19 surveillance to assess and control the spread of infection in a timely manner.

He directed surveillance and whole genome sequencing (WGS) to scan for any possible mutation.
